Growing up, my parents brought me and my siblings to Disney pretty often. I have no many find memories over the year returning to the parks no matter where we lived at that time. I naturally fell in love with all things Disney, and I grew I became interested in visiting again and again. Well, lucky me I had an opportunity to move somewhere new, and I was lucky enough to be led to a place with my best friend, where we could visit the parks regularly! It was exciting to go through each work week, looking forward to our Saturday trip to Disney. So follow along in my first visits to the park when I moved down, and as I become a full Disney adult.

From Disaster to Disney Springs

Our first trip to anything Disney after moving down, actually happened because of an accident. Emily and I were on our way to Universal Islands of Adventure, but traffic was terrible, and we got stuck, not moving on the interstate for an hour. So by the time we arrived at the gates, the park we wanted to go to was closed. So, we decided to leave the park and still make use of the trip to Orlando, and we went to Disney Springs! We walked around shops, checked our food and merchandise, and we ended up finding some cute matching jewelry. I also had my camera with me since we were planning to do a photoshoot at universal, so we went ahead and did one at Disney Springs. Our favorite photos of the night ended up being the portraits in front of the red light walls.

The Wonder of Magic Kingdom

Emily and I were so excited to be headed to Magic Kingdom, especially during its 50th year celebration! Funny enough, right before we got onto the ferry, I couldn't contain my excitement and faceted my parents to tell them where I was. They said I was plain cruel for showing them the park and not bringing them with me, though Emily and I got some good laughs out of it. Since it was the first month of the celebration, the crowds were quite tight, but we managed to use the app well and avoid a lot of the crowds. I of course had to introduce Emily to the relaxing joy that is the people mover and the carousel of progress, and we tried rides new to us like big thunder mountain railroad. We even had great timing one point in time, and saw two marching bands, two castle shows, and three parades in just two hours while we sat on the curb and ate our snacks. We accidentally got the best view on the house, sitting directly on the curb in the center of Main Street, looking at the castle. Great timing for a great day!

The Beauty of Animal Kingdom

Let me just say- I absolutely geeked out seeing Pandora for the first time. I even cried coming off of flight of passage, and since then have been constantly amazed by the mechanics of the ride, and the engineering design of the land. It was here that I felt like I really experienced the Disney magic, and felt like a kid again. Avatar has been my ultimate favorite movie for over ten years now, so getting to be immersed in that world with flight of passage was a true dream come true! Our second trip to this park was much colder, and was pouring rain! But we didn't let that stop us as we got to see many animals, and take a train to a drawing lesson. I also tried expedition Everest for the first time, which was good thing as one week later it was closed for renovations. Since its opened back up we went back again, and that yeti is moving again and its terrifying!!

Nerding out at Hollywood Studios

If you know me, know I love to be a nerd, and one of those things I am a nerd about is Star Wars, specifically the originals. But even so- I am a fan of all things Star Wars, so stepping into Galaxy's edge for the first time was amazing. I got to see the millennium falcon, make a droid, and use my "data pad" to go on missions. The more we visited, the more we discovered cool little things about the park, such as the sounds of ships flying through at night, and with after hour reservations at a the cantina, we could experience the world with no one there with us. But other than galaxy's edge, I introduced Emily to the rocking rollercoaster, and I forgot that your bags just sit at your feet, despite this coaster going upside down multiple times! That made me nervous, but we had a grand time with that and slinky dog dash.

A trip Around the World at Epcot

Everyone who talks about Disney adults and Epcot, talk about drinking around the world. But we chose to do something a little different. Emily and I planned a day at Epcot for our Christmas/birthday/New Years celebration, and do photos around the world. We got all dolled up, brought the camera with us, and commenced photos around the world. We had some pretty pictures in England, and giggled as we rode a few rides. But the best location was Morocco. It was here we ate dinner of fresh bread and various dipping sauces and hummus, and got some of our favorite photos of the night. We ended up spending so much time here, that we didn't get to take photos in the rest of the countries. I'll post more photos of this adventure in another blog post soon but for now there is a sneak peak below. We really enjoyed our day, ending the night with some 50th celebration chocolate desserts and watching the Christmas light show on the Epcot ball

So, now that I have grown and gone to Disney without my family, I think I claim that I am a Disney adult. And I plan to go back for many more visits and more fun photoshoots. Anyone want to join? ;P

-until next time, stay safe, much love!
