This was such a fun photoshoot session! These photos were a large family photoshoot for one of my coworkers at my school. We went out to the family property up in the mountains and made a day of our activities with a photoshoot, campfire dinner, and stargazing.

I got to the property and automatically this sweet little boy came up to me, and I became his best friend for the rest of the day. He constantly wanted to see my camera, and shadowed me as I would set up family members for a photo. He was my own little photography assistant. These sweet boys were ready to take photos, but they also were young and needed breaks. So between poses, I would set the boys up on fun games, such as tag, racing, hide and seek, and throwing games with the apples and walnuts off of the trees lining the road. These boys were having so much fun that I didn't have to give a lot of directions, just snap away as the boys played and paused for a pose every now and then. Honestly we didn't do as many photos with adults, as we all were having too much fun watching the boys.
Honestly I could not have asked for a more beautiful property and day. The sky was clear, and it was just late enough in the evening that we had golden light from the sun, but was also not too hot to be spending hours outside. I feel we all had a great time, laughing and just catching candid shots as we all had fun together. I feel that the personalities really came through, and these are the types of photos you look back on and can't help but smile.
The evening continued with roasting hotdogs over the fire, and my little assistant wanted to sit with me for the rest of the night. And as it got later, I pulled out the two telescopes for the boys and star enthusiasts to look through. Honestly I was spending so much time looking up at the sky that I didn't take any pictures of the larger view. The moon stayed behind the mountains, so we were able to see the most stars I have ever seen in my life. When the evening came to a close, we all packed up to head home, with boys sound asleep in their car seats and me eager to edit the photos.
This was the first of many fall family photoshoot, and what a great shoot to start the season! Be sure to check back in for more soon!
