White Elephant Shenanigans

When you think of your company's white elephant Christmas gift exchange, do you expect a single picture frame with a photo is going to be the hot gift of the night? Well neither did we, but it turned out to be the most fought over gift.
Kayla is a dear friend of mine that I met at small group almost a year ago now. We, along with Emily, became very fast friends. When it came to Christmas time, Kayla found out her work was having a white elephant gift exchange, and she had the perfect gift in mind. She wanted to do a photoshoot to get the perfect photo, taking inspiration from the dramatic mall photo booths of the 80s-2000s, and put a single photo in a frame as her gift. So, we got to work.
Kayla met me at my apart complex one day during golden hour (right before sunset). We walked over to the dog park and spent every last minute of usable light taking photos and having way too much fun! We got photos galore of her climbing trees in her sweater and sneakers, standing purposefully as awkward as possible, and several moments of dramatically staring off into the distance with tiny hands. We certainly had a blast, and though she would get a good chuckle at the party.

Funny enough when the time for the white elephant exchange
began, suddenly this singular picture frame (see next photo), became the hot commodity of the night! Everyone was laughing and fighting over who would be the last to steal the photo and claim it for their work desk. In the end it ended up such a hit, that now two months later Kayla is contemplating buying more prints and hiding them around the office. Either way- it was so much fun to do and I can't wait to see what else ends up happening.
Until Next time-
Stay safe, Much love!
Laura
