There's a Fire in the Firetruck!

You know, it's not everyday that you see a fire truck with a fire in the middle of it. Nina's Wood Fired Pizza is host to a retired fire truck with a wood fire pizza oven in the middle of it. This wood oven gets over 900 degrees and is able to make some amazing 20 inch pizzas in 90 seconds.

I met the amazing duo who runs this business while enjoying the Sweetfield Farms fall festival, and the story of how this truck came to be got a chuckle out of me. Janice was minding her business when one day her dad (James) came home with a retired water truck from the fire department. When asked what he was going to do with it, James just shrugged his shoulders and smiles. A few months later they were in possession of a truck with a wood fire pizza oven built in.

They have designed the truck so they can create an oven with temperatures over 900 degrees, and wide enough to cook 20 inch pizzas. They drive it all over the state to serve as festivals and events. Janice talked with me about how they are always at sweet field farms for both their spring and fall festivals, as well as the renaissance festival, and weddings.

Guests get to watch as pizza is made right in front of their eyes, and listen to the crackle of fire as the gooey cheese bubbles form. These giant slices come out for everyone to enjoy, and they certainly were delicious.

This duo definitely enjoy their work, and I am so thankful they gave me a chance to photograph their business. I can't wait to see them again in the spring at Sweetfield Farms again.
